FACT! Chaga mushrooms have more antioxidants, zinc & melanin than any other single source found in nature. I've continually been SO impressed by these little superfoods while reading the book "Healing Mushrooms" by Tero Isokauppila. According to the book, these mushrooms have been a staple throughout historical folk medicine to cure anything from cancer to gastrointestinal issues. Their polysaccharides, "have the ability to boost the production of lymphocytes (a type of white blood cell that regulates the immune response to infection microorganisms and other foreign substances). Basically, the antioxidants boost your bodies ability to fight cancer and other ailments as well as provide antiviral, antibacterial & anti-inflammatory benefits. Pretty cool, huh?
Not only can you absorb all of these bonker benefits via ingesting the shroom but it CAN ABSORB THROUGH YOUR SKIN! While I'm not going to call this a miracle ingredient, you can not deny that this one little fungi packs a huge punch as far as health goes.
I got my chaga powder from www.mountainroseherbs.com. Quality is important so make sure you are researching your sources before buying.. and especially before putting something in or on your body. This site had great reviews and was also recommended in the above mentioned book. Because this powder is super fine, you can do so much with it! Have dry skin? Make an avocado mask! Have inflamed skin? Puree cucumber for a cooling night mask. The options are really endless so tailor your masks to your skins needs.
